One of our more successful recent events was “Breakfast with the Stars” by STAR Movies. The event was organized in conjunction with the live transmission of the 78th Academy Awards, which was held on March 6, 2006, at the Ritz Carlton in Kuala Lumpur. The function was attended by a number of local celebrities, and we had a red carpet event in the morning, followed by a breakfast with Astro subscribers, while watching the live feed. The event was followed by the “American Idol Biggest Fan competition” for STAR World, which was held at Zouk on April 22, 2006. The winner of this competition was flown to Los Angeles to watch the live grand finale of the American Idol; flight & accommodation was fully sponsored by STAR World. The contestants were selected by hitz.fm radio station, where at the finals they had to impersonate their favorite idol and persuade the judges on why they deserved to win the trip to LA. It was another exciting and triumphant event for Eccentric Events.
